Stay in Aso and support Kumamoto | Meihodo
Meihodo, a cultural resort in Aso City, Kumamoto, is a participating property in the “Stay in Aso and support Kumamoto” campaign (Aso Fukko-wari) run by Aso City.
Stay at Meihodo during the campaign period and you can receive a discount of up to ¥5,000 per person per night, plus ¥2,000 in local coupons.
The local coupons can be used at participating restaurants, souvenir shops and activity providers within Aso City.

When you book, please tell us that you would like to book a stay using the Aso Fukko-wari (in Japanese: 「阿蘇ふっこう割を利用して宿泊予約を希望」).

Aso Fukko-wari bookings are accepted only as direct bookings by email or phone.
Campaign period
- Bookings open Tuesday 1 September 2026 onwards
- Eligible stays Check-in from Monday 7 September to Wednesday 30 September 2026
- Consecutive nights are also eligible.
- If the campaign budget is exhausted, applications may close before the end of the period.
About the accommodation discount
The subsidy is applied according to the room rate per person per night (before tax).
- ¥10,000 (before tax) or more ¥5,000 off per person per night
- ¥5,000 or more but under ¥10,000 (before tax) ¥2,000 off per person per night
- The same criteria apply to adults and children.
- Stays under ¥5,000 (before tax) per person per night are not eligible for the accommodation subsidy.
¥2,000 in local coupons
Eligible guests receive ¥2,000 in local coupons per person.
The local coupons can be used at participating restaurants, souvenir shops and activity providers within Aso City.
- Please check the campaign terms for participating shops and conditions of use.
- They may not be combined with other gift vouchers or discount coupons.
How to book at Meihodo
To use the Aso Fukko-wari, we accept direct bookings by email or phone only.
When you book or enquire, please tell us that you would like to book a stay using the Aso Fukko-wari (in Japanese: 「阿蘇ふっこう割を利用して宿泊予約を希望」).
Our staff will check the eligibility conditions and room availability, and guide you from there.

- Booking directly through the standard reservation system on the official website does not apply the Aso Fukko-wari automatically.
- Bookings made through OTAs or travel agents such as Booking.com, Airbnb, Rakuten Travel or Jalan are not eligible.
